About Me

Born and raised in the DFW metroplex, the son and grandson of a preacher, I've always had a love for God and for the Church.

When I was 16, a near-fatal gunshot wound to the mouth marked my voice for God. Ever since, I’ve known I’m called to be His mouthpiece—whether it be through writing, teaching, or singing.

I lived overseas as a missionary between the ages of 16 and 24 before moving back to Texas to get married to my beautiful wife, Macy, and to attend college. I earned my undergrad in Biblical and Theological Studies at The King's University and my Master's in Theology at Duke University.

In my final semester at Duke, I took a course on songwriting and theology that prompted a new writing journey for me. I learned the joy of weaving together theological themes with the stories of Scripture in song form. Three years later I was able to record some of the songs God gave me and publish my first full-length album, "Saints and Sinners." This website is a result of that project, but I like to think this is just the beginning. I hope to use this space to not only share music but also writing and teaching.

I'm anchored by my incredible wife whom I don't deserve and two flawless kids whom I adore. I currently work as the Director of Student Development at The King's University in Southlake, Texas, and one of my favorite things in the world to do is to sit and read a good nonfiction book.
